Emory & Henry senior Jake Seth takes the stage

Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.

Jake Price is looking forward to September, when he hopes to be, barring a continued threat from COVID-19, on tour a with the Missoula Children’s Theatre, starting in Montana and then performing in all 50 states and parts of Canada.

As he looks with excitement toward his future acting career, he happily reflects on the many advantages provided him through his study of theatre and mass communications at Emory & Henry. “I feel so completely prepared to jump into the professional theatre and ‘adult’ world because of the faculty here at Emory & Henry,” Jake said.

Also instrumental in shaping his success was Barter Theatre, a world-renowned professional theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, which works with the E&H Theatre Department to train theatre students. 

“Professional theatre is such a small world, and it’s great to be able to establish meaningful and close relationships with actors and technicians at the Barter when you come to Emory & Henry,” said Jake who worked as a sound intern for the theatre company. “The Barter partnership is one of the best things about our department, and it has helped me to grow so much.”

In addition to his work at the Barter, Jake has been involved as an actor and technician with numerous theatre productions as the McGlothlin Center for the Arts, Emory & Henry’s impressive facility for visual and performing arts. He also has been a member of the Alpha Psi Omega theatre honors fraternity and the Thi Chi Epsilon social fraternity.

Price begins his post-college experience endowed with the confidence that comes with preparation. “The roles I’ve been fortunate to play and the shows I’ve been a part of have led to some great opportunities.”
