Scott Sikes
I attended Emory & Henry College as a first generation college student from Galax, VA and was a Bonner Scholar. Immediately upon graduation, I worked for two years in the College’s Office of Admissions and, after that, as the Coordinator of the Bonner Scholars Program. For a number of years, I worked in the field of academic publishing and maintained strong ties to Emory & Henry, including serving as a member and president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
I am happy to serve as the director of the Appalachian Center for Civic Life and to also provide leadership for the Bonner Scholarship Program and the Interdisciplinary Program in Civic Innovation. In these roles, I have the privilege to work with a wide variety of students on a range of different projects.
I am proud to be a native of southwest Virginia, and I have a deep sense of commitment to and love for this place. It is also my privilege to serve as pastor of Rock Spring Presbyterian Church, located not far from campus.
My wife, Felicia, is also a graduate of the College, and we live on a small farm just over the hill from campus. We have one daughter who is a college student in New York.
