Beverly Sheddan

Distinguished Instructor of Health & Human Performance Health and Human Performance

Professor Beverly Sheddan serves as Chair of the Health & Human Performance Department at Emory & Henry College.  The department offers three separate majors: Human Performance, Health & Physical Education-Teacher Preparation,  and Sport Management.

Beverly received her Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education from Emory & Henry College and her Masters of Education in Physical Education from East Tennessee State University.  She began her career at Emory & Henry in 1991 where she initially served as the Women’s Tennis Coach and earned Old Dominion Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors on three different occasions.

Teaching

She currently teaches courses in Foundations of Physical Education, Skills & Techniques, Physical Education for the Exceptional Child,  Social and Psychological Dimensions of Sport and Leadership.  In addition, she manages the internships for Sport Management majors, supervises student teachers and serves as Director of the College’s Lifetime Wellness program.
