    This list is not all-inclusive, nor will your student need all these items. A good rule of thumb, if your student does not use it at home, they will probably not use it at school. Roommates should communicate about dividing out who will bring larger items.

    Linens

    • extra-long twin sheets and pillowcases (two sets recommended) - 36”x 80” or 99cm x 203cm

    Things to Leave at Home

    These items are prohibited in order that we may provide a safe and secure living environment for all of our residents. We are governed by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s fire marshal and health codes. Therefore, many of these items will result in monetary fines and/or student conduct sanctioning from the College to your student. We encourage you to help us by discussing these items BEFORE packing the car.

    With the first chapter founded in 1920, Greek Life has a proud and rich history here at E&H. Our system is unique because all of our chapters are “local,” meaning that they only exist on our campus, giving a deep sense of loyalty toward their current brothers and sisters . Each year, Greek Life sponsors numerous social events, campus programs and service opportunities on campus.

    Emory & Henry College proudly promoted Frederick George, ’11 ’13, as the Dean of Students in preparation for the fall 2023 semester. In this new role, George will be responsible for coordinating College resources for student activities and programs on campus, establishing strong relationships with students and fostering an atmosphere of inclusion and engagement.

    Equipped with chairs, tables, prayer rugs and religious texts, a room in the lower-level of Memorial Chapel on the Emory & Henry College campus is now available for students of all faiths to have a quiet place to pray and meditate.
