*Some students may need to take ENGL 100 prior to ENGL 101. 

**BIO/CHEM 100 - it is possible to be exempt if: You have taken AP Biology & scored 3 or higher on the Biology AP exam, or you have a 1200 SAT or 25 ACT and a GPA of greater than 3.3, or a GPA > 3.3 & have successfully completed other AP exams (3 or more) in Science and/or Math.

Pre-Admission coursework (Fall 1, Spring 1, Fall 2) may be taken in a different order than what is shown. 

Students may elect to take some additional pre-admission or core curriculum courses during the summer or winter terms, as well.

Transfer credits can apply to prerequisite or college requirements but not Nursing courses.

Emory & Henry College is CCNE accredited.

Program application occurs during the second fall semester. 

  • Admission to Emory & Henry as a first-year or pre-nursing student does not guarantee admission to the BSN-nursing major until all criteria have been met. 
  • Admission into the pre-licensure BSN program occurs yearly and is competitive. 

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Score of 65% or higher on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
  • Submission of the BSN program application (due October 1 for consideration for spring admission to the program)
  • Interview with School of Nursing faculty
  • Submission of signed Technical Standards Form
  • Current American Health Association (AHA) CPR for healthcare providers certification
  • Criminal background check, drug screen, verification of immunizations
  • Completion of, or current enrollment in, the required nursing prerequisite courses
