From the Desk of the General Manager
Greetings! 2021 promises to be an exciting year for WEHC. As many of you may know, beloved long-time general manager Richard Graves left the station last summer to pursue his passion for art full time. He will always be part of the WEHC family. The stars aligned and I applied for the position thinking that my lifetime love of radio and the music and traditions of the region would be a good fit for this 9,000-watt beacon in Southwest Virginia. In January Leigh Anne Hunter joined the team and we have many exciting things in store. We have a great opportunity to work with students, giving them hands-on experience with all aspects of daily operations and encouraging their passion for radio. In return, they give us insight into the rapidly changing world of communications. It is our hope that going forward, WEHC will be a constant in the community and in your homes. We hope to give a stronger voice to our little corner of the world by spotlighting all that we have to offer in the form of quality talk shows, local and regional music, and maybe even a stage performance or two. Stay tuned. There’s lots more to come.
