Founding Dean of E&H School of Business Named

Emory & Henry is remodeling Carriger Hall to house the new School of Business on the Emory campus. The first step toward that end was the demolition of Matthews Hall to make room for significant upgrades to Carriger and an updated outdoor space for the entire campus to enjoy. Until the renovation is complete, McGlothlin Street Hall will be home to the Business Department.

Emmett Tracy, Ph.D. has been named founding dean of the new School, bringing to the program extensive senior-level management experience and experience pioneering strategic improvements and enhancing academic and social programs across higher education. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of academic affairs and dean of the School of Business at the African Leadership University.

Tracy brings the elements of an entrepreneur, an international executive administrator and a digital transformational leader to the School. He has pioneered strategic improvements enhancing academic and social programs across tertiary education. He has focused on practical, value-driven engagements with international corporate partners and created numerous academic and research opportunities with Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to his work at the School of Business at the African Leadership University, Tracy served at the highly ranked Hult International Business School as dean of postgraduate studies for the Cambridge (Mass.) campus. Tracy received his Ph.D. at the University of Dublin, Trinity College, Ireland.
