Why Exercise Science at E&H?
What Can You Do with an Exercise Science Degree?
An Exercise Science (EXSC) degree provides an excellent foundation for pursuing a graduate degree in a health professions discipline (i.e., athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies) or other health-related fields (public health, nutrition/dietetics, clinical exercise physiology, or kinesiology). The EXSC degree also prepares students for careers in commercial fitness, corporate wellness, or strength and conditioning.
Exercise Science majors will gain a strong understanding of the human body with coursework incorporating both core biological sciences and applied physiology. Classroom and laboratory experiences examine the body’s physiological responses to exercise, the role of regular physical activity in maintaining health and wellness, and the chronic health conditions that are associated with physical inactivity (i.e., heart disease, diabetes, obesity).

The Gateway to Health Sciences Grant
Students who earn their undergraduate degree from E&H and have been accepted into a School of Health Sciences (SHS) Graduate Program (Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies) are eligible to receive the grant. The grant is equivalent to 10% savings on the student’s SHS graduate tuition each semester until the degree is completed, as long as the student remains in good academic standing in their program.
E&H Alumni are automatically eligible and do not need to apply for this grant separately. Receiving this grant does not prevent a student from participating in loan forgiveness programs or grants.
