Bartlett-Crowe Field Station

Take Your Education Outdoors.

In Fall 2011, Dr. Charles Bartlett generously donated a 72-acre property outside of Glade Spring, Virginia, 15 minutes from Emory & Henry College.

Dr. Bartlett’s gift is now the Bartlett-Crowe Field Station, providing education, research, and service opportunities in the Appalachian forest and river ecosystems by offering innovative field-based education programs and research facilities for faculty, students, local educators, and community members and partners.

Students from every academic major can find meaningful ways to be engaged at the BCFS.

The diverse landscape offers project opportunities in a wide variety of fields, including:

Wildlife Studies

Geology and Hydrology
Ecology
Wetland Restoration
