We are ready and excited for the 2023-2024 School year, and we hope you are too. Welcome to Emory & Henry College!
8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Student Check-In
Copenhaver Lobby, McGlothlin Center for the Arts (MCA)
All students on campus (including those who have moved in early due to athletics or other activities) must check in for the Week of Welcome Orientation. Multiple check-in stations will be set up to ensure all student forms are completed. Please visit each station to ensure all required forms have been received.
Stations will include Apogee (Campus Internet), Advising, Financial Aid, Student Accounts/Business Office, Health Services, Information Technology (IT), Housing, and Campus Police

Take a break during move-in and shop for some E&H merchandise at the Emory Mercantile. (Emory Mercantile is typically open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.)

Dean of Students Fred George leads a session for E&H commuters, sharing advice about parking, meal plans, balancing school and work, and getting involved.
5–8 p.m. Dinner with New Student Experience Leaders

Students will meet Orientation Groups to have dinner with their New Student Experience Leaders and begin bonding with their classmates!

Welcome, Incoming Class! Orientation kicks off with a welcome by E&H President Dr. John Wells; Vice President for DEI&B Initiatives and Senior Advisor to the Provost on Student Engagement, John Holloway; and the Student Government Association President Ryan Vaughn. Please wear your name tags so you can locate your Orientation Group.
8-8:30 p.m. Housing and Residence Life Session

The Office of Housing and Residence Life (HRL) provides an information session. Meet the staff and learn about housing policies.

- Unity Circle: Meet at the lawn of J. Stewart French Advancement House, across from Duck Pond to create a unity circle made from yarn. The circle will be on display for all groups to create a unique work of art telling the story of our unity through our uniqueness.

The Honor Code Ceremony is a long-standing tradition of Orientation. Student Government Association presides and a keynote speaker.
3 p.m. Entertainment Finale: Alex Ahn
President’s House Pavilion
Alex Ahn is an award-winning violinist who started playing the violin at three years old in Atlanta, Georgia. Since starting the violin over two decades ago, he gradually transitioned from the strict structure of classical violin to developing his own free-flowing style stemming from the culture of Atlanta.
