E&H alumni and friends have enjoyed outdoor events as a way to gather in a setting that feels healthier. Birding events have been scheduled in a variety of locations such as this one in Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond, Va.
Guest lecturer for the education forum, Becky Haas, brought an exceptional combination of first-hand experience, and an in-depth knowledge of the science of supporting trauma-informed approaches in education. ‘What she has accomplished in Johnson City, Tn. serves as one of the most dramatic examples of how a trauma-informed approach can change a community,” said Sandra Frederick, Ed.D., Education Department Chair.
Dr. Michael Nowak and two Physician Assistant Studies Department students at the Emory & Henry College School of Health Sciences traveled to remote Guatemalan villages to deliver aid to hundreds of people and to practice skills related to their field during winter break 2021.
