College Provides Information to Students and Access to Vaccinations

On April 14 the College, in conjunction with Ballad Health, held a COVID vaccination clinic in the McGlothlin Center for the Arts where 67 individuals were vaccinated.

In all about 280 students were vaccinated during spring semester. An education campaign was also held with faculty and staff allowing their testimonials for getting vaccinated to be put on posters, social media and other publicity. A Lyceum event was also prepared by faculty to help students understand the science behind vaccinations.

  • Dr. Christine Fleet

    Fleet Trains in National Program

    Dr. Christine Fleet, E&H professor of biology, was chosen to attend a training session with the Genomics Education Partnership, where she learned from biology faculty from around the country.

    “I was able to bring tools back that will let students use genomics databases to interpret genetic information related to the insulin signaling pathway in fruit flies, and potentially have the opportunity to publish their results,” said Fleet.
