Lifelong Learning Events

Emory & Henry alumni and friends learned to stay sharp with E&H Lifelong Learning events – in person and online. Recorded online events are still available for your enjoyment and topics cover history, science, music, gambling, the fascinating wasp and more.

Our most popular events have included a Q&A session with Dr. Doug Tallamy about native plants (350 engagements) and the presentation by “Scrapper” Broady ’70 on his ancestor, John Broddy (450 interactions). Friends also gathered in person at the SWVA Higher Education Center for a College for Older Adults class led by Emory & Henry. Watch for other COA classes next semester! Meanwhile, get ready for a new array of offerings this upcoming winter, in person and online, as we dive into Dolly Parton, get familiar with Neo-Appalachian Art, muse over museums, and explore the natural world. Watch for a lecture on blockchain, by John Fields ’01, and one on Collard Greens, led by Dr. Ed Davis, to be released soon.
