Emory & Henry Sees First Award Winners in SAC

Multiple Student-Athletes Recognized in the SAC

With the conclusion of the fall 2022 sports seasons, Emory & Henry student-athletes were recognized for their performance as part of the All-South Atlantic Conference Teams.

Carley Williams '23Men’s soccer senior Louis Pereira-Scott (Glasgow, Scotland) holds the honor of being the first-ever All-SAC performer in school history as he was named to the all-league third team on November 2. The men’s soccer team was recognized with the SAC’s Fair-Play Award, which is given to the team with the lowest accumulation of yellow and red cards during the conference season.

Football saw eight of its members named to the All-SAC Piedmont Division Teams. Senior Grayson Overstreet (Moneta, Va.), senior Ricky Dodson (Front Royal, Va.) and junior Tmahdae Penn (Martinsville, Va.) were named to the All-SAC First Team Offense. Fifth-years Ivan Phillips (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Donovan Pinnix (Eden, N.C.) were picked to the first team defense. Fifth-year Preston Robertson (Mocksville, N.C.) earned second-team offensive accolades while junior Addison Knicely (Mount Crawford, Va.) was selected to the second team defense. Justin Hill (Dallas, N.C.) received accolades as SAC Offensive Freshman of the Year.

Football saw three recognized: fifth-year Preston Robertson (Mocksville, N.C.) and sophomores A.J. Burgess (Roxboro, N.C.) and Hunter Bolden (Olin, N.C.). Men’s soccer had four honorees in senior Spencer Scott (Stephens City, Va.) and sophomores Cameron Blalock (Greensboro, N.C.), Juan Gomez-Rios (Cali, Colombia) and Clark Hey (Charlotte, N.C.). The women’s soccer team posted six to the team with senior Carly Walden (Christiansburg, Va.); juniors Sophie Graham (Radford, Va.), Adrienne Harris (Hillsville, Va.) and Maddie Hummel (Spotsylvania, Va.); and sophomores Lucy Dunlop (York, England) and Olivia Haynes (Spotsylvania, Va.). Volleyball added four more honorees including senior Carley Williams (Bristol, Tenn.), and sophomores, Paige Halcrow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.), Camden Jones (Bristol, Va.) and Samantha Worthy (Arden, N.C.).
