Jaynae Wright to continue her education at the University of Virginia
Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.
Jaynae Wright of Cleveland, Tenn. will receive bachelor’s degrees in Economics, Business Administration and Public Policy.
Wright will graduate with the class of 2023. In addition to her studies, Wright is the Student Government Association President, a member of the Calliopean, a Blue & Gold Ambassador, a Civic Leader Scholar and a part of Housing & Res Life. “Be open-minded about what you will fall in love with–from majors to people, to extracurriculars, allow your heart to lead and you will surprise yourself by being connected to people and experiences you would never have imagined,” Wright said.
Wright also received an applied data analysis certificate. She intends to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Policy and a Doctoral degree in Education Policy from the University of Virginia.
“While all of my four years at Emory & Henry have been touched by COVID, I am deeply grateful to Emory & Henry for providing me with connected relationships that I truly don’t believe I could have developed at a larger institution. The faculty, in particular, is second to none. Not only have they prepared me to thrive in the graduate school process, but they have also invested in me beyond the confines of the classroom,” Wright said.
“Emory & Henry asks students to step up and be meaningful leaders and contributors to this place; for those like myself who attempt to answer the call, it feels that we are able to leave a mark on the College as much as it leaves a mark on each of us who have called Emory & Henry home. I must also shout out additional services such as the student center and student activities, including New Student Experience and Campus Rec who always work to develop students while also ensuring they love their time here,” Wright said.
