Antwan VanBuren to pursue a career in community and organizational leadership
Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.
Antwan VanBuren of Charlottesville, Va. will receive a master’s degree in community and organizational leadership.
Antwan will graduate with the class of 2023. In addition to his studies, VanBuren also coached basketball. “Working with Tal Stanley has been a life changer for me,” VanBuren said of his community and organizational leadership (MCOL) professor. “His teachings and class discussions have helped me tremendously. His instruction is way above anything we could ever learn in a classroom.”
“In the MCOL program, we were able to develop skills that will translate outside of the walls of the classroom. Leadership is a privilege and a service. Service is what I think people take for granted. Titles are fine, but what impact you make when you work and interact with the people in your circle, could last them a lifetime,” VanBuren said.
“I plan on pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership,” VanBuren said of his plans after graduation. He is a first-generation college student.
