Elizabeth Heflin is working to ensure individuals with disabilities find and maintain competitive employment

Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.

Elizabeth Heflin of Spotsylvania, Va. will receive bachelor’s degrees in history and politics.

Heflin will graduate with the class of 2023. In addition to her studies, Heflin was a member of the Calliopean Literary Society, the Office of International Education, Theta Chi Epsilon, Sigma Upsilon Nu, Civic Leader Scholars, Judicial Board and Pi Sigma Alpha. “I was given opportunities that I wouldn’t receive if I was at another institution, such as presenting my senior research at a national conference and leading a student trip to Washington, D.C. The most memorable part of my time at Emory & Henry was studying in Nottingham, UK, visiting 9 countries and learning how to independently thrive in a new place,” said Heflin

Heflin has been working with RSVP inc., an organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities find and maintain competitive employment.

“Emory & Henry’s tight-knit community allowed me to develop close relationships with faculty members and other students. The relationships I made over the past 3 years are easily the most valuable part of my time at Emory & Henry,” said Heflin.

Take advantage of everything there is to offer! Join student groups and attend campus events, no matter how cheesy they may be. I met several friends during the orientation events and continued to meet my greatest friends through Greek Life and in student housing. Put yourself out there and enjoy.
