Blaze Hughes to continue education at Liberty University

Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.

Blaze Hughes playing rugby Blaze Hughes, Rugby Club MemberBlaze Hughes of Chilhowie, Va. will receive bachelor’s degrees in history and civic innovation.

Blaze will graduate with the class of 2023. In addition to his studies, Hughes is a member of the wrestling and club rugby teams, Blue & Gold Society, Housing and Residence Life,  SGA and Beta Lambda Zeta. “Emory & Henry has changed my life in so many ways. I am the first person in my family to attend college, and Emory & Henry made me feel at home and gave me the best education possible. I believe no matter the adversity I face in life, Emory & Henry has prepared me to be successful and great in life and my vocation,” Hughes said.

“I will be attending Liberty University starting this summer to peruse a Master’s of Teaching in Secondary Education,” Hughes said.

Hughes is a first-generation college student.
