Thoughtful Estate Planning: Gifts That Can Reduce Taxes, Provide Lifetime Income and Support Emory & Henry College

Posted July 06, 2023

One of the most effective ways to care for your family and ensure that your philanthropic goals are carried out is with an up-to-date estate plan. If you own property, have dependents or have recently experienced life changes, visit an estate attorney to create or update your will and/or trust document. There are also planned giving steps you can take without visiting an attorney. For example, completing a simple form can designate a beneficiary for your retirement assets or insurance plans. Contact your benefits administrator or insurance agent for more information.

If you are considering the impact of taxes, contact us to see how including Emory & Henry in your estate plan can provide a legacy here while reducing taxes for yourself and your family.

To learn more about estate planning and discover planned gifts options that can provide tax and income benefits to you while also supporting the work and mission of Emory & Henry, visit www.ehcplannedgiving.org or contact Greg McMillan, โ€™90, executive director of planned giving.

Emory & Henry College has been awarded a prestigious distinction for its commitment to affordability compared to other institutions. The recognition comes from Colleges of Distinction, a resource that selects schools based on the quality and diversity of hands-on experiences rather than relying on traditional rankings. In an era dominated by discussions about college tuition and student debt, the Affordable Colleges of Distinction award aims to assist cost-conscious students and parents in navigating the complex landscape of college financing. Emory & Henry shines as a beacon of affordability among the distinguished group of Colleges of Distinction, showcasing its notable financial costs and positive outcomes. In addition to net price, Colleges of Distinction considered median debt and mean earnings data of graduates, factoring in location, size, public/private affiliation status, and the percentage of Pell Grant recipients. These criteria collectively positioned Emory & Henry among the most affordable institutions.
