Extra-curriculars: Women’s Basketball and Peer Mentor

Projects: I previously did research on how the history of Southwest Virginia affects the diversity at Emory and Henry College in my research methods class. I am currently doing research on Anxiety as a college student in my Research and Design class and how that affects your life.

What you think is most important about your Sociology courses?

I think the most important aspect about taking sociology courses is getting to learn about different cultures and ethnicities and interacting with others. My courses expand my awareness of social relationships and the world. I learn something new every day I come to class.

What advice do you have for other students considering Sociology or Sociology majors:

The advice I would give to other students is to have an open mind about the courses you are taking. Be willing to have in-depth conversations with your peers about different social issues going on in the world today and have fun with it!
