Rice Rander

Rice is graduating with a BS in Chemistry and a BS in Mathematics. He is originally from Lynchburg, Va, and this Fall (2021) will begin working towards his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. Rice will be studying inorganic chemistry, and he is particularly interested in the catalysis design for different industrial applications including the depolymerization of plastics and conversion of water and CO₂ to chemical energy storage. During his time at Emory & Henry College, Rice spent a summer conducting research at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland as well as completing research projects with Drs. Ferguson and Duchamp at Emory & Henry College. Rice says, “The Emory & Henry Chemsitry faculty have been incredibly supportive over the last four years and I would not be where I am today without their help.”
