Destinee Johnson

“When I started my college search I was told to look into the theatre department at Emory & Henry because that was going to be my intended major,” said Destinee Johnson, ’24. “That has been the best advice I’ve ever gotten.”

Johnson is a member of the dance team at Emory & Henry College and she is involved in Greek Life as a sister of Sigma Upsilon Nu. “I immediately fell in love with the community of the theatre department,” said Johnson. “On my audition day, it felt like I belonged here. Everyone was super supportive and inviting.”

“My decision was also informed by the size of the College. I have made better connections than I could have at a college with larger class sizes,” Johnson continued. In addition to dance and Greek Life, Johnson is an advocate for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. “The relationships I’ve made with my professors and my peers are stronger than I ever could have expected.”
