Stephanie Williams
Dr. Williams has been an Occupational Therapist for the past twenty two years. She began practice in a rural hospital in Southwest VA with a focus on acute and outpatient care. Initially working as a staff therapist she treated birth to geriatric population in a number of settings including outpatient, acute care, school system and skilled nursing facilities. Later as Director of Occupational and Speech therapy and then Director of Rehab Services for a local hospital she continued to enjoy active practice working with people from Southwest VA and NC.
Her passion for treating patients’ that experienced complicated upper extremity injuries inspired her to become a Certified Hand Therapist in 2004. Working primarily in an outpatient clinic she enjoys the rich stories her patients have shared during therapy sessions and working with others to provide quality care.
During the past year she spread her ‘wings’ and worked as a travelling therapist in a magnet designated hospital in southern Delaware and an outpatient facility in South Carolina that included working to rehabilitate injured workers. She is excited to be back in Virginia and a part of the E & H faculty. As we welcome our initial class she looks forward to working with students as they take their journey to become dedicated, competent, occupation focused, evidence-based Occupational Therapists of the future.
