Monica Hoel

Monica Hoel, 85’, has served as the Alumni Director for the College since 1991. Her community activities have included serving as co-chair of the Washington County Va. Relay For Life event and serving as president of the Virginia Highlands Festival. She is currently serving as a board member and Basic Training Class coordinator for the Holston Rivers Chapter of Virginia Master Naturalist.

“I’ve been an active member of Virginia Master Naturalist for almost 13 years, and I’m the coordinator for our chapter’s basic training class. I have around 950 lifetime hours of service to date,” Hoel said. “Much of my service time is spent doing community education about birds and conservation.”

The only thing she loves more than birdwatching is seeing Emory & Henry alumni succeed in the world and stay in touch with friends.
