Yazmine Holmes
Yazmine Holmes of Newport News, Va. is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre with a Dance minor. Recently, Holmes has participated in the Appalachian Center for Civic Life’s Civil Rights trip to Alabama as well as the Hot Pepper Monologues and Songs for the New World. “I benefit from the small classes because I can have one-on-one conversations with professors and form a connection with my professors and other students,” Holmes said.
“I plan on pursuing a career in the theatre industry,” Holmes said. “I will be attending graduate school. I recently attended the southeastern theatre conference (SETC) and received an offer for a paid job.”
Yazmine Holmes is a first-generation college student and a Bonner scholar.
