Jacob Marshall
Jacob Marshall is starting his first year as head coach for both Men’s and Women’s Tennis at Emory & Henry. He is a native of Bristol, TN. Marshall is excited to get back to the courts and coach his first Division II team alongside some amazing players.
He first started playing tennis at the young age of 7 with the help of his stepfather, David Poole. From 7 until now, Marshall’s passion for tennis has prospered. Marshall has numerous accomplishments through the past 17 years and throughout his many national and regional tournaments during his competitive tennis career.
Marshall grew up as a multi-sport athlete (basketball, soccer, and tennis). He played Varsity Basketball until his junior year at Tennessee High School. After his junior year, he began to really focus on his collegiate tennis career. Marshall played on the Varsity Tennis Team at Tennessee High School (2014-2017) where he won 7 TSSAA titles and is the Most Decorated Male Athlete in Tennessee High School History and was named Athlete of the Year for THS in 2017. He was also a 3-star recruit in the South and placed Top 20 in the South.
Proceeding high school, Marshall went on to play Division I Tennis at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He played on the Men’s Tennis Team from 2017 until 2022 while pursuing his Bachelors in Business Finance and Masters in Business Administration. Marshall currently resides with his wife Makailah Marshall (UTC ’21) in Bristol along with their two pets, Sadie and Olive.
