Currently, she serves as the Coordinator, Division and Event Support for the American Cancer Society in Abingdon, VA.  Previously Lauren worked as the Assistant Director of International Education at E&H. She said, “I loved my time here at Emory & Henry that I just couldn’t stay away.” Having studied abroad herself in her final semester at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, Lauren says “working in International Education has been such a unique experience…it’s very rewarding to help students achieve their dreams of international travel.” She recalls her first study abroad experience when she was sixteen. Lauren was nominated to travel to France, Italy, and Greece with the <a href="http://www.peopletopeople.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">People to People Ambassador Programs</a>. </p><p> To Lauren, the most memorable and rewarding experience she had in the Honors Program was successfully defending her honors thesis. Despite being overwhelmed by the idea of writing a thesis her freshman year, she finished her thesis a semester in advance and was able to graduate a semester early. After months and months of work, Lauren said, “it was such an amazing feeling to have my professors’ approval.”</p></div><a href="/live/profiles/709-lauren-trotman" class="link-with-arrow gold">Keep reading</a></div>

NBER is an American private nonprofit research organization that aims to conduct unbiased research among public policymakers, business professionals, and the academic community. The NBER has a history of predicting the start and end dates for U.S. recessions, and many of their associates have won Nobel Prizes in Economic Sciences.</p><p> Lisa is engaged in a range of applied economic research, and her primary areas of interest are labor economics, industrial relations, and race and gender economics. She currently serves as an advisor to the AFL-CIO’s Commission on Race and is a past board member of the Labor and Employment Relations Association.</p><p> Lisa completed a double major in Economics and Sociology at Emory & Henry, and then earned a Ph.D. in labor economics from the University of Notre Dame. She previously served as a labor educator and assistant professor at the University of Illinois and at the University of Minnesota before becoming the director of the School of Business at Brevard College. Today, Lisa is the director of education and membership development for the United Steelworkers of America headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. She and her staff create and coordinate the Union’s education program throughout North America and in the United Kingdom.</p></div><a href="/live/profiles/669-lisa-jordan" class="link-with-arrow gold">Keep reading</a></div>

His profound interest in everyday economics drew him to pursue a graduate degree in statistics, which uses similar models and logic to make optimal decisions. Additionally, his love of sports and sports analysis fueled his devotion to pursuing a career in the sports industry. Cole remembers his first time watching the film and reading Michael Lewis’ Moneyball and seeing statistical analysis applied to baseball. Since then, he has attended several sports analytics conferences and spoken with analysts from teams such as the Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Indians, San Antonio Spurs, and the Atlanta Falcons. Cole wants to use his skills to help teams make better decisions, whether it’s in–game strategy, prospect evaluation, or marketing analytics. During what little free time he has, Cole enjoys playing pickup basketball, attending bible study, and going to as many NC State home games as possible.</p></div><a href="/live/profiles/711-cole-conley" class="link-with-arrow gold">Keep reading</a></div>
