Police Chief’s Message

On behalf of the Emory & Henry Campus Police Department, I would like to welcome everyone to Emory & Henry College. Whether you are a student, a visitor, or a member of the E&H faculty and staff, we want to make your experience here a safe and enjoyable one.

The Emory & Henry College Campus Police Department is an independent full-service police agency that falls under the Department of Criminal Justice Services for the Commonwealth of Virginia, fully staffed with certified Campus Police Officers as well as Campus Safety Officers on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Our office is located in the Martin Brock Student Center next to The Wow Cafe.

E&H police officers have jurisdiction and legal authority on all college-owned property. Since students live both on- and off- campus, we work very closely with the Glade Spring Police Department, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies in the area. Officers patrol residence halls, academic halls, and sports facilities on a regular basis and work closely with the Office of Student Life staff to ensure a safe and secure campus community.

I hope you enjoy your time here at Emory & Henry College and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Scott Poore
Chief of Police
