Emory & Henry senior Makenzie Cannon to teach next generation

Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.

In May 2020, Makenzie Cannon will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary History and Social Sciences with a certification in PreK-6th grade.

“Given the amazing opportunities that I’ve received through both my practicum and teaching internships I am well prepared in moving forward to take on the responsibility of my own classroom,” says Cannon. “I have grown academically, professionally, and personally due to all the challenges brought my way.” 

Cannon says she is proud to say she is part of the incredible education program at Emory & Henry.

“The amazing faculty and staff at Emory & Henry have made such an impact on my life,” says Cannon. “My education and history professors have been so important to me because they have fostered in me a love of life long learning. Without my professors I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

After graduation, Cannon plans to acquire a teaching position to carry out her passion for teaching the next generation. 

“Education gives us the power to be the very best version of us and with that we can change the world,” says Cannon.
