Emory & Henry senior MacKenzie Bellimam joins Americorps

Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.

Mackenzie Bellimam earned her degree in Environmental Studies this past December. While studying at Emory & Henry, Bellimam volunteered in the E&H Community Garden and served as the Executive Global Ambassador to the International Education Department.

“Emory & Henry provided me the tools for self-expression and how to look at the world through a multi-perspective lens,” says Bellimam.

Bellimam says her advisor, Dr. Ed Davis, always knew how to push her to learn beyond the page and the classroom.

“He taught that every moment of everyday was a learning experience; that there is always going to be something that I did not know and that it was okay,” says Bellimam. “I think that this life lesson comes from the college’s motto of  ‘Increase in Excellence’; excellence grows within  all us through our mistakes, our triumphs, and our connections.”

After graduation, Bellimam will join Americorps in Oak Ridge, Tn. She will be working for Oak Ridge Stormwater pursuing her passion in understanding water quality and connecting the importance of hydrological health with surrounding communities.

“I have always had a passion for volunteering and connecting with people, and by working with Americorps, I will be able to put my dreams into action,” says Bellimam.
