Clay Rolston Continues Family Legacy of Leadership Contributions

Clay Rolston has joined the Emory & Henry College Office of Advancement to lead corporate and foundation giving efforts as the College continues to grow and invest in its campuses and students. The College recently announced development plans for apartments, a new Equine Center and Multi-sport Complex located on College property just off 1-81 at Exit 26.

Before joining Emory & Henry, Rolston served as the Executive Director of the Ballad Health Foundation in Johnson City, TN. Prior Rolston served as the Director of Community Support for the Wellmont Foundation in Kingsport, TN and business development roles for Pal’s Business Excellence Institute and Eastman Chemical in Kingsport, TN.

“I am thrilled to continue my not-for-profit fundraising career at Emory & Henry” says Rolston. “Because my father, the late Fielding Rolston, invested much of his volunteer time here to strengthen the college, I feel as though I am continuing an important family legacy.”

At Emory & Henry Rolston will work with corporations, foundations, and individuals on supporting critical projects to achieve the college’s overarching strategic priorities.

“Clay brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role at the College,” notes Greg McMillan, VP for Advancement. “His business background and fundraising expertise enhance the depth and strength of our advancement team. This is especially important now at this critical time of growth for the institution.”

Rolston is also a recognized volunteer leader in the Appalachian Highlands region having served as board chair of the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA and Rise Up! in Johnson City as well as various volunteer leadership positions at Munsey Church in Johnson City. He resides in Johnson City with his wife Luanna. They have three adult children, Ben, Marley, and Lily.
