The Kitchen Closet Opens for Students with Food Insecurities

Food insecurity is a problem for students on college campuses across the country; many do not have funds to purchase food.
Posted April 01, 2022

Emory & Henry opened the Kitchen Closet in February in Van Dyke Center next to the dining hall to help students with food insecurity. Sodexo, the College’s dining service, keeps the shelves stocked with beverages, snacks, fresh fruit, and refrigerated or frozen food and meals which can be reheated.

The Kitchen Closet is a free resource for students, residential or commuter. It is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m
