Homecoming 2022

Threats of hurricane weather didn’t stop E&H friends from attending Homecoming and folks even bought commemorative t-shirts to remember the unusual weekend!

The Class of ’72 showed up in records numbers; the Class of 2002 came early and stayed late; friends dedicated a bench at Wiley Hall; alumni authors autographed their books; Theta Chi Epsilon celebrated an anniversary; football fans came a day early when the game moved to Friday; and new fans were forged as the E&H men’s rugby team played on Nicewonder Field on Saturday.

    Healthcare Career Pipeline

    The E&H School of Health Sciences (SHS) and School of Nursing (SON) recently received a one-year renewal grant for $25,000 from the Ballad Health Foundation and the Smyth County Hospital HealthTrust to support the development of a sustainable workforce pipeline for preparing Smyth County public school students for careers in nursing and other healthcare professions. The HealthTrust exists as a philanthropic arm and nonprofit fundraising organization for Smyth County Community Hospital.
