Rosemary Gray, ’69
Presented to Gray for her outstanding work in higher education promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

The Distinguished Achievement Award

Bishop Phyllis Spiegel, ’88
Presented to Bishop Spiegel in recognition of her recent election to the position of Bishop of the Utah Diocese of the Episcopal Church.

The Fred Selfe Distinctive Service to Emory & Henry Award

Friends of the Sciences Volunteers
Presented to Friends of the Sciences Volunteers in appreciation for more than 25 years of creating summer research opportunities for E&H students.

The A.L. Mitchell Young Alumna Award

Ali Singleton Reilly, ’17
Presented to Reilly for her outstanding commitment to environmental conservation.

The James A. Davis Faculty Award

Dr. D. C. Cobler, ’95
Presented to Dr. Cobler for his distinguished leadership in academics and student mentoring.

    Graduates Go Beyond

    The 175th commencement ceremony for the graduating class of 2023 was held at Fred Selfe Stadium on the Emory campus on Saturday, May 6. More than 230 graduates walked across the stage and received their diplomas with supportive family, friends and faculty cheering them on. Speakers included Dr. John W. Wells, president; Dr. Michael J. Puglisi, executive vice president and provost; Dr. Ann Sluder, ’81, chair of the board of trustees; Rev. Sharon Wright, ’94 College chaplain and co-pastor of Emory United Methodist Church; graduates Diego Zamarripa Velo, ’23 and Olivia Bailey, ’14, ’23; and keynote speaker Alan Levine, chair and chief executive officer of Ballad Health.

    Explore the Outdoors

    A new Center for Outdoor Studies will launch this fall that will support students academically who want to work toward careers related to the outdoors. The center is part of the Collective Connection Campaign initiative to expand student engagement and the strategic plan to embrace and support our place in the region. More than 375 incoming students are expected to join the campus this fall, and Summer Experience Days are underway for the new swarm of Wasps!
