Sarah is receiving a BS in Biology and will be graduating in the fall of 2022. In the future, she plans to attend medical school with the goal of becoming a board-certified neurologist.

From Sarah: “Currently I am a certified nursing assistant on the medical/surgical floor at my local hospital. My research project is Exploring Environmental Enrichment in Captive Nonhuman Primates, where I observed preferences of perch types by vervet monkeys (Chlorocebus sabaeus aethiops) in correlation to the time of day. Being a Ledford Scholar, I was granted the opportunity to complete my research over the summer at the Vervet Research Colony at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. On campus I am involved in Beta, Beta, Beta and the Pre-Health Club. I was also a part of the tropical biology trip to Panama in 2022 where my partner and I studied foraging habits in Panamanian birds.”
