Haleigh Cooper
My name is Haleigh Cooper. I am a Biology student (B.S.). I am originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, but I have found a home here at Emory & Henry College. Over the summer, I worked with Dr. Shelley White-Means on a project looking at how we can treat social determinants of health (SDOH) in a primary care setting. This year, I am continuing my research on the relationship between diet and gut dysbiosis and its effects on heart rate variability. My future plans include attending Medical School where I intend to pursue an M.D./Ph.D in Microbiology, and I hope to specialize in Pathology.
