Study Strategies Courses
Our study strategies courses help get you on the right track for academic success!
We offer two different courses, each 1-credit-hour, that are designed to help students understand the “hidden rules” of college success. Sometimes experienced students learn about these classes and say, “I wish someone had told me about that class! I needed it!”
GNST 120:
Transitioning to College
Offered in the fall for first-year students.
Topics include:
- Motivation
- Time management
- Note-taking
- Textbook reading strategies
- Studying for exams
- Research-based learning methods
- Understanding GPAs
- Choosing a major
- & more!
GNST 150:
Strategies for College Success
Offered fall and spring for returning students needing to bring up their GPA.
Topics include:
- Motivation
- Time management
- Reading and note-taking
- Memorization techniques
- Research-based learning methods
- Improving GPAs
- Planning for graduation
- & more!
