Housing & Residence Life

ALL OFFICES & SERVICES

Emory & Henry College is considered a Residential Campus which means we require all students to live on-campus while attending the College.

The historic campus maintains the scenic beauty of Central Appalachia but gives convenient access to the region’s activities and culture. On-campus residents find there are always friends and activities to engage in. The E&H campus features a variety of residence halls with co-ed, single-gender, and gender-inclusive accommodations. Residence halls feature Resident Advisors to assist students as they acclimate to their new surroundings. The Office of Housing and Residence Life website hopes to offer you an array of information to prepare students for their arrival to campus.

Students who are interested in living off-campus must submit an Off-Campus Housing Application and be approved by the Office of Housing and Residence Life. All applications are due by February 1st and must be completed annually. To learn more about living off-campus, please see details here

For any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach our team at housing@ehc.edu.

In the event that a student needs to visit the emergency room and the Housing & Residence Life Office is notified, the Dean of Students or the Assistant Dean of Students travels to the hospital to sit with each sick student and connect with their emergency contact. •

Where will I live on campus as a first-year student?

All first-year students will live in one of our Themed Living Communities. Most first-year students are either placed in Elm Hall, Hickory Hall, & Wiley Jackson Hall. First-year students are placed together so that they may form relationships with other students that last the duration of their time on campus. Elm and Hickory Halls are double occupancy rooms with standard furniture and amenities. Each room has its own private bathroom. Common areas within each hall includes lounges, two full kitchens, and media rooms. Students may also choose to live in Wiley-Jackson Hall, an historic hall on campus. The cost of Wiley-Jackson Hall is less than Elm and Hickory Halls primarily because Wiley-Jackson Halls provide common bathrooms per hall rather than private bathrooms per room. The same furniture and amenities are provided in Wiley-Jackson Hall, and common areas include lounges and full kitchens.
