Our graduates are occupation-centered and possess leadership, advocacy, critical thinking and professional reasoning skills that will enable them to serve and meet the occupational therapy needs of diverse communities.
In addition, graduates will have the necessary skills to work in a variety of settings—including rural healthcare settings—to meet the needs of those who are underserved in areas of health disparities.
Successful Transition to OTD Program
The Master of Occupational Therapy Program at Emory & Henry College School of Health Sciences has transitioned to an entry-level OTD program. The OTD program has received Accreditation from ACOTE. Applications for the MOT program are closed and the application process for the OTD program will open in July in OTCAS.

Emory & Henry College School of Health Sciences Entry-level Doctorate (OTD) Program is Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
The Entry Level Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Program per semester tuition for students entering OTD program in Fall 2021: $9,579.00. Total tuition for year one of the OTD program (3 semesters) is $28,737.00. Total tuition for year two of the OTD program (3 semesters) is $28,737.00. Total tuition for year three of the OTD program (3 semesters) = $28,737.00. Total tuition for the entire OTD program (all 9 semesters combined) is $86,211.00*.
General College Fees: $200.00 (graduation fee).
College Technology Fee: $165 per semester
College Activities Fee (Student Government Association): $100 per semester
Textbooks: $2,500.00 (this cost is for all 9 semesters and only an estimate).
Personal Laptop Computer (required): $800.00. The price of computers varies widely and depends on model and configuration.
