About the OT Profession
Occupational Therapy (OT) is a great field that combines sciences/medical knowledge with psychology and working directly with clients of all ages in a personal and meaningful way. The outlook for occupational therapy continues to be very good and has consistently ranked high in best jobs. According to U.S.News & World Report, the profession of OT was ranked #17 in Best Health Care Jobs and #28 in The 100 Best Jobs. The growth rate is expected to be 27% through 2024. The median pay has been recorded as $84,270.
OT Goals:
Occupational therapists evaluate and treat individuals of all ages across the lifespan. The goal of OT is to promote participation and independence in life’s occupations including areas such as activities of daily living (e.g. bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, meal preparation, etc.), homemaking skills, work skills, transportation issues, play, leisure, educational, etc.
