Emory & Henry Cheer & Dance Each Earn First-Place Honors At Champion Cheer & Dance (April 1, 2019)
GREENSBORO, N.C. –
The Emory & Henry College Cheer & Dance Teams kicked off the 2019 season on Saturday at Champion Cheer & Dance on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University. Both squads claimed first-place finishes with the Cheer Team earning College Division Grand Champion accolades.
The Cheer Team scored an 85.233% with zero deductions to take first place in the intermediate level. The squad excelled in portraying collegiate image (10/10) and was recognized by the judges for their skills in crowd leading (9.8/10), jumps (9.6/10) and choreography (9.5/10).
The Dance Team posted an 82.967%, also with zero deductions to win the Hip Hop College Division. Judges commended the team on their stage presence (communication/projection) and synchronicity and were impressed with the choreography and music selection.
Emory & Henry Cheer & Dance will next compete on the weekend of Saturday, April 13 at JAMfest Sevierville Nationals at the Sevierville Convention Center
