What is your favorite outdoor adventure sport? What has drawn you to this activity?

I’m super drawn to climbing. Personally I find climbing to be a sport that pushes me physically and mentally. When climbing, I’m able to enter a special state of mind where I’m solely focused on the next step ahead. I’m able to be entirely present in the moment. Along with this, the height aspect of climbing is something so thrilling.

How would you describe the A team community?

This team has a unique sense of community. When I first arrived at college, the team generated some of my first friends here. As time has passed, I’ve realized that these people are ones that I hold closest to me. This community is full of people who want to see you grow, individually and in the outdoor setting. The support system that makes up this team is one that is rare and unmatched.

Do you have any advice for someone just entering the world of outdoor adventure?

If you’re someone that is interested in the world of outdoor adventure I would suggest just trying it all out. It can be overwhelming and scary when you know very little about it, but this program is a great resource to dive into everything that the outdoors has to offer.

What do you hope to achieve with A team before you graduate?

Before I graduate, I hope to have created a strong relationship with myself and the outdoors. The outdoors have always been a constant in my life, and once I got to college, a whole new world of outdoor activities opened up. Before I graduate, I hope to have so many wonderful experiences with the people on the team and individually as well, so that I can build off of those moments and take them with me to the next chapter of my life.

What is your favorite local spot for outdoor adventure?

My favorite local spot would probably have to be The Breaks Interstate Park. Last year we went on a fall break trip to the Breaks, where we spent our days camping and climbing. In my opinion, The Breaks have some of the most glorious climbing spots, and there are so many climbs there that I still need to check out.
